Of Boys and Men: Why the Modern Male Is Struggling, Why It Matters, and What to Do about It
Join us for this incredible FAN Zoom event.
Boys and men are struggling. Profound economic and social changes of recent decades have left many losing
ground in the classroom, the workplace, and the family. While the lives of women have changed, the lives of
many men have remained the same—or in some cases, worsened.
In the widely praised book Of Boys and Men: Why the Modern Male Is Struggling, Why It Matters, and What to Do about It, Richard V. Reeves, Ph.D.—a father of three sons, a journalist, and the founding president of the
American Institute for Boys and Men (AIBM)—takes on the complex and urgent crisis of boyhood and manhood.
Reeves argues that our attitudes, institutions, and laws have failed to keep up, and that politicians across the
ideological spectrum have offered more heat than solutions.
Reeves examines the structural challenges facing boys and men and offers fresh, evidence-based solutions that
turn the page on the corrosive narratives surrounding this issue. Of Boys and Men makes the case that helping
the other half of society does not require abandoning the ideal of gender equality.
This event is suitable for youth 12+.
